Do I need a self-priming pump?

These are centrifugal pumps, which means the water supply needs to be at least level with, or above, the pump. Because they aren't working to self-prime they're a bit quieter and more energy efficient!

These are self-priming pumps, which means they can draw water up from more than 7m down. So if your tank is buried or your water source
is a shallow bore, you need a self-priming pump.

2025 Price guide: $1375 - $2203 + gst
These are a basic but robust range of self-priming pumps that are ideal for your house or garden. They are available as an uncontrolled bare pump or with either an electronic controller or a combination pressure tank and pressure switch.

A submersible pump installed inside your water tank is another option. The pump is concealed and out of the way. It's also quiet and it can't loose its' prime!
